Astrology, Meditation and Tea Drinking

Tea has numerous medicinal benefits, which is one of the compelling reasons for its popularity. Besides being a rich source of antioxidants, tea has other curative properties such as being an antiseptic and an aid to digestion and many others.

Tea brims with antioxidants

Tea’s active ingredients are caffeine. Tannins present in tea give it a pungent taste, aroma and flavor (which essential oils also enhance). Tea brims with antioxidants, the disease-fighting compounds that help your body stave off illness. Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea are all rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are required to promote health benefits. The health benefits of tea are one compelling reason for its popularity.

Antioxidants are important; naturally occurring nutrients that help maintain health by slowing the destructive aging process of cellular molecules. Antioxidants are nutrients found naturally in the body and in plants such as fruits and vegetables. Common antioxidants include vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and certain compounds called carotenoids (like lute in and beta-carotene). Antioxidants minimize damage and keep body’s cells healthy. Body needs plenty of antioxidants to defend itself against the free radicals attack on healthy cells, which can be derived in plenty from antioxidant-rich foods.

Nature provides thousands of different antioxidants in various amounts in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and legumes, to help body protect itself from the rigors of oxidation, this birth and death of cells in the body goes on continuously, 24 hours a day. It is a process that is necessary to keep the body healthy. “Oxidation is a very natural process that happens during normal cellular functions,” Yet there is a downside. “while the body metabolizes oxygen very efficiently, 1% or 2% of cells will get damaged in the process and turn into free radicals,” free radicals” is a term often used to describe cells that can be problematic. They are “free” because they are missing a critical molecule, which sends them on a rampage to pair with another molecule.

Green and black teas have 10 times the amount of antioxidants found in fruits and veggies, by one estimate. Green tea, black tea, and oolong tea – they all come from the same tea plant, Camellia sinensis. The leaves are simply processed differently. Green tea leaves are not fermented; they are withered and steamed. Black tea and oolong tealeaves undergo a crushing and fermenting process.

All teas from the camellia tea plant are rich in polyphenols, which are a type of antioxidant. The detoxifying effect of these antioxidants protects cells from free radicals, the damage that can lead to blood clot formation, atherosclerosis, and cancer.

It contains high levels of flavanoids, the antioxidants responsible for the protection of heart diseases.

Flavanoids are even more active than the ‘classical’ dietary antioxidants: Vitamin C, E and Carotenoids.

Higher tea consumption in elderly decreases the build-up of Atheromatous plaque that causes heart attacks.

It reduces the call responses to inflammatory processes.

It is thought to alleviate stress by improving our moods.
