Disposition - Determines Happiness

Most people lament about this, that or something else. "If only _______,' is a comment phrase. You can fill in the blank with your favorite lament. "If only I had more money. If only the house was bigger. If only the children were less messy. If only the economy was better. If only I was younger." And the list goes on.It's your disposition that determines your happinessOne thing to remember is, "It isn't your position in life, it's your disposition that determines your happiness." -author unknown. When you accept that it isn't your position or the things that you have, but, your attitude you have that determines your happiness, you realize you are in control.

Thus, when you catch yourself thinking, 'If only this would happen, If only that would happen, if only that hadn't happened or if only this could happen, then, I would be happy,' then you can change your attitude and disposition to an empowered level of consciousness.Accepting what IS and working to change it.Listen to your self-talk, notice how often your thoughts are of the 'If only___, variety. Then, consciously change your thought to: "Up until now, that is what it IS. I will change my disposition to accept what IS and work to change what is for me.
You can adopt a new mantra to replace the old lament, "My position in life is determined by my disposition. I choose to change my position by changing my disposition. My disposition is accepting what IS and working to change it." |
A moment of clarityThis moment is the first moment of the rest of your life, decide to change your disposition to create the happiness you desire and deserve. The steps are easy:
• Listen to your self-talk and what you say to others. Notice each time you say, "If only____." Each time you notice yourself think or say that phrase, then;
• Stop yourself, change your thought or statement to: "Up to now, that is what it IS. Then change it.
• Implement this process for 30 - 45 days. You will notice as the days tick by you will hear yourself saying, 'If only____,' less and less. At the end of 45 days you will notice that your disposition has changed to positive thinking.
