A blend of art and scienceAstrology is a blend of art and science that a lot of people know about, but very few people have any depth of understanding of astrology. After all, anyone who looks at the generalized astrological forecasts printed in newspapers and magazines can only assume that astrology is a very generalized and somewhat vague way of interpreting ourselves, our world, and how the two relate to each other.
In actuality though, the full art of astrology goes into much more depth than can be outlined in a couple of sentences in popular media. While the horoscopes in the newspaper are based on the same premises as a true astrological forecast, they're designed to provide insight into the general situation of everyone in a given astrological sign.Individual forcastsA forecast for an individual goes into much more detail by incorporating the astrological conditions present at the individual's birth, the astrological signs of other people who are significant in the individual's life, as well as the specifics of how the planets are influencing the individual on that particular day or at that particular hour. With all of this factors coming into play, it can be pretty obvious how much more in depth astrology can be than what you read in the paper. |

These skeptics generally consider themselves rational people who, when they think about horoscopes at all, might point out that they're so vague that it's inevitable that weaker willed people will respond to them and put faith in them.The deeper premises of astrologyIf you look into the deeper premises of astrology though, you can see that there is actually something of scientific basis for how the sun and planets can influence who we are and what we do on earth. In fact, Newton's law of gravity- which is a very firmly established scientific fact- describes how all objects are attracted to each other to varying extents by the force of gravity. The gravitational attraction between the Earth and the moon is what accounts for the activity of the tides after all, and many people have noticed that human behavior tends to become wilder and less predictable during a full moon.With phenomena like lunar tides, it's easy to imagine how the more distant planets can produce gravitation influences that alter human behavior to varying degrees. After all, while the planets are much farther away than the moon, most of them are also much larger. Moreover, since all of the planets are moving at different speeds they can interact with each other to form different patterns of gravitational force.
