The Dark Creature Within

Dream to escape depressionLike a forest within a labyrinth of shadows, my mind searches for an escape from the deep inner pain felt within the constraints of my mind. Yearning for light but only seeing darkness.A slight glimmer of hope casts the shadows away like a dusty curtain in an abandoned house, but through the window I see only a mirage of hope like a memory gradually fading with time, keeping me holding on desperately for a dream to escape. |

DepressionOnce hoping to become like a colorful butterfly, instead I arise a moth from a cocoon, a remnant of a hopeful man to now a character full of confusion & bitterness.Tripping over my own two feet as I journey a merciless path battling an enemy that knows no remorse. A seemingly creature for it bares no name. A fight to the bitter end I attempt casting away the dark one with the little stamina I have left. The dark mysterious creature within, the successful one that wins by breaking down defences & clashing consistently against my will, leaving me confused & feeling worthless. My warm tears, the lump in my throat, the constant agony of a depression that slays my inner being like a knight attacking a man with no armor. The hero of pain, the creature, the one almighty, strong & forever like a plague engulfing everyone that crosses its path. The dark mysterious creature within, known to many & feared by all, for the modern world curses all with illusions of prosperity & freedom, yet like a veil hides that which we don't want to see. Within every luminous path is a point that is hidden from light, there a dark character dwells amongst its shadows, waiting for it's next victim like a panther on the prowl. I too once had the naivety of a hopeful man, but I have been taken prisoner by the dark creature within. The battle is gruesome & misleading, the feeling of struggle like swimming upstream in the murky waters of my mind. I hear of many who battle the dark creature with alcohol, swallowing fermented potions & taking drugs like alchemists mixing chemicals to consume for a remedy to poison the creature within. I chose the invisible tongue, a voice within my mind like a sword I sharpen its point with affirmations of hope. I search for a light at the end of a tunnel, for wise men speak of such places. Like a traveler from another time lost in a modern world I crave for the ability to fit in. Greed & corruptionI see a world overtaken by greed & corruption, a history that repeats itself with unworthy rulers, a world over run by an enigma of characters who justify themselves by robbing from the poor in the name of economics, a world infected by a generation of immoral marketers like ingrown nails digging deeper into society & infesting the young minds with illusive lifestyles, a democracy dissolving with excuse for battling terrorism & the bandits of authority which lead with cold hearts & iron fists. |

Perhaps mans dark creatures within have learnt the secret & transcended space & over shadowed the frail thread of time like a virus infection that should look like dollars signs under a microscope. |
