What Are We?

What makes up the individual? What causes them to do what they do, or not do what they might? Have you ever asked yourself who you are? That is to say who are we, or what are we? This philosophical question has been asked for almost as long as man could think abstractly and reason. Even today psychologists, psycho-analysts, and even those who do profiling ask this question.

Indeed, if we wish to predict human behavior or determine what someone, will do, we need to know a few things first. So, what are we? Well, not long ago, an acquaintance made a comment along this line of thinking and stated; "We are four things. What you inherit, what you read what you hear and what you experience."

A logical assessment

Okay, well that is a good start, in our logical assessment of what and who we are, but if I might interject, I'd like to bring up several more items and points to consider in deciding what makes up, us, we, or I. Let me give you a little sample;

What are We?

1. We are what we think

2. We are our genes

3. We are our education

4. We are an average of our five closest friends

5. We are our observations

6. We are our experiences

7. We are our ideals

If you leave out anyone of those, you are sure to miss-identify and miss-categorize someone. In doing so, you will prejudge and miss. So, this is something that we ought to all take into account when trying to answer this age old question. Please consider all this.
