Tarot Card Meanings - The Moon
By: Steven Wagenheim

Ah, the moon. Sometimes I think there is a full moon all the time with the way people are acting these days. There is no question that the moon plays a significant part in our lives. But how does the moon come into play when talking about the Tarot? Well, this article is going to give you the 10 cent tour of this mysterious, and often chaotic card and how it can affect us for good or bad. Keep reading to find out more.

The moon and psychic development

In its regular meaning, the moon, believe it or not, could indicate the beginning of psychic development, especially if it falls in the sixth position in a Celtic Cross spread. Personally, I see this card turn up a lot in readings that I do for myself, thus indicating that my psychic ability is increasing each day. I'm not so sure that this is a good thing.

Personal independence

This card could also indicate that the subject needs to put more trust in himself and rely less on others. This is especially true if the card turns up in the eighth position of a Celtic Cross spread. Sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling and not depend on other people to tell you what to do. This is sometimes very difficult for those who are not by nature independent.

Personal difficulties

This card also could indicate that the prospect is having problems with another person and that they need to clear the air of any differences. Keeping your feelings to yourself is not a good thing and will only end up eating you alive from the inside.

In reverse key, this card indicates that you shouldn't waste time in arguments with others. Instead, you should focus your energies on things that are more important. Stick to your point of view and have patience that eventually others will come around and see your side of things.

See things as they really are

This card could also indicated that you need to look at things as they really are and not through rose colored glasses. You need to be in control of your emotions and not be afraid to face the truth.

Finally, you can't let your imagination run wild. Don't look for demons where there are none. This card in reverse is what I call the "paranoia" strikes card. Many people think that there are conspiracies everywhere. This is simply not true.

The moon is an interesting card to say the least. It can make us do some crazy things. Don't let it.
