Origin of the signs of the zodiac

The word zodiac is derived from the Greek (zodiakos), which mean "a circle of animals," or, as some believe, "little animals." It is the name given by the ancient astronomers to a band of fixed stars about sixteen degrees wide, apparently encircling the earth.

The zodiac is a window into life's mysteries

Astrology is an attempt to help us find out who we are and in so doing give us a tool with which we can explore our fate. Astrology binds us to the cosmos giving us a window into the mysteries that surround us. It provides insite into our personalities and how we fit into the chain of history, past, present and future.

Astrology is a form of divination

Astrology is a form of divination (i.e. future prediction) based on the theory that the movements of the celestial bodies, the stars, the planets, the sun, and the moon influence human affairs and determine the course of events. On the day that you were born the stars and planets formed a unique pattern. That pattern is believed to determine your fate and your place in the cosmos.

Astrology is key to understanding your fate

A persons fate was believed to be determined beforehand by a universal order that was a result of the motions of the planets and stars in relation to your birth pattern. Thus, the ancient astrologers believed, your Zodiac Sign was the key to understanding your fate.
