Zodiac Houses
(Combining all of your astrological elements into a complete picture)

Zodiac Houses combine your Astrological Traits

Each individual has a zodiac sign which corresponds to a planet an element and a mode/quality of being. In order to bring these together we have the twelve Houses of the Zodiac. Your zodiac house pulls together all of your astrological aspects and brings them into focus.

Positions of your Zodiac House and Earth's Horizon

The chart below describes the changing position of the astrological houses in relation to the earth's horizon as your zodiac sign moves above and below the horizon. This cycling of the zodiac houses determines which of your astrological traits come to the fore at any given time or day.

Zodiac Houses and the Astrology Wheel

  • The outer circle shows the classic position of the zodiac signs
  • The middle circle represents the ruling planet of each of the zodiac signs.
  • The inner circle is the astrological house associated with the zodiac sign and the ruling planet of the observer. (i.e. you)
Note: The position of your zodiac sign, above or below the horizon, when you were born, is the key to understanding the Zodiac Houses.

The Twelve Houses of the Zodiac

Imagine the sky, above and below the horizon, divided into twelve equal parts. Each of these divisions represents a house of the zodiac and is a lens, so to speak, through which your zodiac sign should be viewed. (See chart above)

Good Things lay above the Horizon

Everything shown above the horizon is the positive part of your life. This is the part of you that connects with the world in a positive way.

The Yang

These zodiac elements bring an upward motion to activities. This is the Yang in Chinese astrology.

Bad Things lay below the Horizon

What lies below the horizon is the negative part of your life. Here is where your alter ego resides.

The Yin

The dark side of the soul balances the light with a downward pressure. This is the Yin in Chinese astrology.
