  • The outer circle shows the classic position of the zodiac signs
  • The middle circle represents the ruling planet of each of the zodiac signs.
  • The inner circle is the astrological house associated with the zodiac sign and the ruling planet of the observer. (i.e. you)
  • Note: The position of your zodiac sign, above or below the horizon, when you were born, is the key to understanding the Zodiac Houses.

The twelve houses of the Zodiac

Imagine the sky, above and below the horizon, divided into twelve equal parts. Each of these divisions represents a house of the zodiac and is a lens, so to speak, through which your zodiac sign should be viewed. (See chart above)

Good things lay above the horizon

Everything shown above the horizon is the positive part of your life. This is the part of you that connects with the world in a positive way. These zodiac elements bring an upward motion to activities. This is the Yang in Chinese astrology.

Bad things lay below the horizon

What lies below the horizon is the negative part of your life. Here is where your alter ego resides. The dark side of the soul balances the light with a downward pressure. This is the Yin in Chinese astrology.
